Elliott-Matsuura
Our proud manufacturing history began over 100 years ago in 1905 when German Engineer, Hugo Frye, opens a precision manufacturing company in London, UK. That same year Hugo Frye married his English wife, Beatrice Elliott. The B. Elliott Group was formed in 1915 during World War I. He began to build machine tools under the brand names of Progress drills, Victoria milling machines and many others.

Expansion continued, and in 1950 the B. Elliott (Canada) Ltd. opened its doors in Port Hope, Ontario. Elliott Canada started to import and distribute machine tools made in Europe. Elliott was one of the first Canadian companies to sell NC machines.

In the middle 1980’s Elliott management decided to change its machine tool representation portfolio and began to sell machines from elite suppliers such as Matsuura, Nakamura Tome, Correa, Tacchi, and later Zeiss. In 1988, the B. Elliott Group sold its Canadian subsidiary to one of its suppliers; Matsuura Machinery Corporation from Japan. In 1992, Elliott purchased three (3) acres of land in Oakville and in October of that year moved into its employee designed 40,000 sq. ft. building.

We proudly employ 90 full time staff members and sell exclusively across Canada 20 of the “best in class” portfolio of complementary machine brands.
