Knox United Church is located on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Niitsitapi Nation, Tsuu T'ina Nation, and Stoney Nakoda Nation, and part of Metis Region 3. Knox United Church is a member of Affirming Ministries, a network of United Church congregations and ministries that declare themselves to be fully inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

The objectives of the Knox United Church Foundation (Calgary) are to receive, hold and manage endowments and other funds in the form of money or other property, and to apply income or other capital from those funds yearly to support the ongoing ministry of Knox United Church, Calgary.

Knox has created a three-year vision called The Next 1100 Days (2017-2020), which builds community connections and gives Knox an external/community-facing focus.
